Band of the Week

I get to tell you about an incredible band every week!

7/20-04 - 7/26/04
This week's artist is Danny Elfman. He's the man behind the Simpson's theme song and the entire soundtrack to The Nightmare Before Christmas. Check him out, he's a wondeful composer.

My Favorites:
Oogie Boogie's Song
Jack's Lament
Finale

7/13/04 - 7/19/04
This week's band is for Nichole, and that band is Fleetwood Mac. This classic band couldn't go wrong with the stunning vocals of Stevie Nicks and the beautiful harmonies of John McVie and Lindsay Buckingham, as well as beautiful compositions like Landslide that have been covered by many other artists. Be sure to check out Nichole's favorites.

Nichole's Favorites:
Sara
Angel
Never Going Back Again
Destiny Rules
Steal Your Heart Away

7/6/04 - 7/12/04
Once again, I missed a week. But I assure you, this week's band will definitely make up for everything! Blind Melon is the group that I'm all over this week. You may have heard their song "No Rain" on the Pepsi commercial with the girl in the hotdog suit and the guy in the Pepsi suit. You'll love them, no matter what kind of music you like.

My Favorites:
No Rain
Vernie
Galaxy
Skinned
Wilt
Time
Tones of Home
Working Class Hero (John Lennon cover)

6/22/04 - 6/28/04
Oops, I missed a week. Oh well. This week, you need to check out Adam Green. He's a bit Ben Kwelleresque, but he's got his own unique sound as well. Check him out and I'll try to get this up on time next week.

My Favorites:
Dance With Me
Kokomo (with last week's Ben Kweller!)

6/15/04 - 6/21/04
This week's ever-so-wonderful artist is the unique sounding Ben Kweller. He'll rock your socks on so many levels and so much more! He's another artist that's a bit hard to fit into a certain genre. He can range anywhere from the calmer ballads, to the super fun, pump-you-up rock and roll songs. Either way, you must check him out.

My Favorites:
Wantin' Her Again
Lizzy
Family Tree
In Other Words
Walk On Me
Harriet's Got A Song
I Need You Back
Hospital Bed
BK Baby
My Apartment
On My Way
Down
Ann Disaster
Hear Me Out

6/8/04 - 6/14/04
Once again I get to rave about another incredible artist! This week's pick is a band called Elbow. I'm trying to think of someone to compare them to, but that is simply an impossible feat. They've got a style all their own. All I can tell you is to check them out.

My Favorites:
Newborn
Independant Woman
Fallen Angel
Teardrop

6/1/04 - 6/7/04
This week, I get to rave about Rufus Wainwright! He's awesome. If you've seen Shrek, you've heard at least one of his songs, Hallelujah. And if you've seen I Am Sam, you've heard another one, Across the Universe. But not all of his music is so "classic". He can be anywhere from Jazz, to Pop, to classical. His songs are incredible. I urge you to check them out!

My favorites:
Hallelujah
Poses
Shadows
Millbrook
Instant Pleasure
Beauty Mark
Foolish Love
Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk
Across the Universe
